iPhone 17

The iPhone 17 series is the latest (and most powerful) to date. With a screen size of up to 6.9 inches, you’ll enjoy extra space for gaming, watching videos, and multitasking. Powered by the A19 chip, this model offers fast performance and impressive battery life. The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e features a 48 MP main camera, while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models are equipped with three 48 MP lenses for professional-grade photography. The selfie camera has also been upgraded to 18 MP for sharp selfies and high-quality video calls. All models come with Apple Intelligence, which makes your iPhone smarter and more personalised. With storage options up to 2 TB, you’ll have plenty of space for photos, videos and apps. The iPhone Air stands out with its ultra-thin and lightweight titanium casing and slightly larger 6.5-inch screen. It also includes the more powerful A19 Pro chip with extra RAM and, like the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e, has a 48 MP main camera. The Air is also fully eSIM-only.

iPhone 16

The iPhone 16 is a great option if you're after a fast and intelligent smartphone. It’s the first series where Apple Intelligence is fully integrated, enhancing battery life and automatically adjusting the screen for the best viewing experience. All models feature a USB-C port and run on the powerful A18 chip, while the Pro models include the A18 Pro chip for even faster performance. The range also introduces the iPhone 16e, a more budget-friendly model with a 6.1-inch OLED screen and a 48 MP camera, the successor to the iPhone SE (3rd generation).

The base and Plus models use the reliable A15 chip, while the Pro models are powered by the faster A16 chip. The Pro versions come with a powerful 48 MP camera and video features like Action Mode for stabilised motion shots. With 6 GB of RAM, the devices handle multitasking more smoothly than earlier generations. The iPhone 14 is also the last series to use the Lightning connector.

iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 is still a solid option for those seeking a reliable and versatile smartphone. It features a bright 6.1-inch Super Retina OLED display and runs on the dependable A15 chip, ensuring a smooth experience. The dual 12 MP cameras produce clear, detailed photos and videos, and Night mode lets you capture images in low light. This series also includes the iPhone 13 mini, ideal for those who prefer a more compact device. It’s the last iPhone series to feature a mini model (for now).

Our advice on comparing iPhones

Which iPhone suits you best mainly depends on how you use your phone. Do you take lots of photos and videos every day? Then the iPhone 17 or 16 Pro are great options, thanks to their 48 MP cameras and additional lenses. Looking for a more affordable iPhone with strong performance? The iPhone 17e or 16e are great options. Do you mostly use your iPhone for social media, music and messaging? Then the iPhones 15 or 14 will do the job perfectly, offering smooth performance and sharp displays. Prefer a more budget-friendly model that still lasts for years? The iPhone 13 remains a smart and reliable choice.
